WEBMESSENGER JOINS FORUM NOKIA PRO

Demonstrates WebMessenger Mobile IM on enterprise-grade devices at CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2006

Los Angeles-September 12, 2006, Nokia Booth # 530, CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2006-WebMessenger, provider of mobile instant-messaging and real-time collaboration products for enterprises and consumers, today announced that it has become a member of Forum Nokia PRO, a program for advanced developer companies creating the next generation of software designed for the Series 40, and Symbian OS-based S60 and Series 80 Platforms from Nokia. A select number of companies worldwide who demonstrate industry leadership are chosen as Forum Nokia PRO members, positioned to benefit from Nokia's in-depth technical support and extensive worldwide software distribution channels.

WebMessenger will also demonstrate its Mobile Instant Messenger (IM) service for Nokia devices. WebMessenger's Instant Messaging service provides multi-network access, enabling users to simultaneously chat with buddies on different networks. The presence and instant messaging service runs concurrently with email applications and while the user is on the phone. It is available as a standalone wireless application for consumers and business professionals as well as for enterprises via the WebMessenger Mobile Platform.

WebMessenger's mobile instant messaging and collaboration products are currently available for use with Nokia devices based on the S60 platform, such as the Nokia Eseries devices, Series 80-based devices such as the Nokia 9300 smartphone, and newer Series 40-based Nokia phones. Product benefits include:

  • Chat with your buddies from AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, Skype, ICQ and Jabber simply and conveniently from a single application on your Nokia mobile device.
  • Enterprise version supports interoperability with IBM Lotus Sametime, Microsoft Live Communications Server, Reuters Messaging, and Jabber XCP.
  • Supports all major wireless network protocols including CDMA/1X, CDPD, DataTAC, EDGE, EV-DO, GPRS, GSM and Mobitex.
  • Send and receive extended presence information (online, busy, away, and not available) as well as recognize the device of origin (desktop or mobile user).
  • Always-on, background operation with pop up alerts of incoming messages.
  • Manage (add, drop, edit) contacts from your Nokia handheld; organize contacts into personalized groups for easy recognition and access.
  • Message history with timestamps.

WebMessenger will market the robust, powerful, highly scalable service to its wireless operator partners, providing them with a single, easy-to-use interface that combines presence, instant messaging and SMS capabilities. The service will provide end customers with a new communications tool while providing additional revenue opportunities for the operators.

WebMessenger will exhibit its products at the Nokia Booth #530 in Halls H & J, on Tuesday and Wednesday between 2-5 pm, and Thursday between 11 am - 3 pm.
